If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, boy does Toybox have the show for you. On Saturday, March 8, Toybox presents an epic line up Plymouth Knob, Orange Dog Club, and Rom Com Victims. Tickets are $5, doors at 8, music at 9.
Busy this weekend? Don’t fret! On Thursday, March 13, Last Call showcases a Scott Pilgrim vs the World inspired line up, which includes Oscar’s Cash, Jerry Big’s World Famous Band, and Stratosphere! Event located at BJ’s, aka 51W Main Street in Fredonia. Doors at 9, music at 10.
And if you’re not in the mood for socialization, Fredonia local band HitGRL has recently released their debut EP, Are We Sure About This?, available on whatever streaming service of your choice!

97th Annual Oscars Recap

The 97th annual Oscars happened last night, which celebrated the year’s cinematic achievements with a night of memorable wins. Most notably, romance-thriller Anora swept with 5 wins, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Screenplay. Adrian Brody took home Best Actor, and Kieran Culkin took home Best Supporting Actor, which marks his first Academy Award. Paul Tazewell became the first Black man to win Best Costume Design for his work on Wicked, and Zoe Saldana became the first Dominican American actress to win an Oscar, taking home Best Supporting Actress for Emelia Perez. 

Angie Stone dies at 63

The talented R&B singer Angie Stone has passed away on March 1 due to an unfortunate car crash. Variety reports, “The Grammy-nominated musician was best known for her 2001 hit “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” a quiet storm soul record carried by her husky, rich vocals and a prominent sample of the O’Jays’ “Backstabbers.” Throughout her career, she released 10 solo albums and was nominated for three Grammys, including best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals in 2003 and best female R&B vocal performance the following year.”
